Being a blogger I've been lucky enough to attend some incredible bookish events, but on Wednesday evening I was SUPER EXCITED to attend one in my city!
Girls On Tour is a collaboration between Books and The City (Simon & Schuster) and Waterstones.
It is a chance for readers to meet the authors who huddle on their bookshelves and captivate their imagination.
For the first Girls on Tour event in Birmingham, the High Street branch of Waterstones played host to three wonderful authors, Ali Harris, Milly Johnson and Paige Toon.
After being greeted with a smile and offered a glass of fizz along with a cupcake. Guests were shown to their seats and the fun began.
The authors talked about their books, the inspiration behind the stories and characters, their favourite reads and wanky names.
Everyone was at ease, laughing, smiling and a little in awe at these three remarkable women.
After questions with the authors it was time to meet the ladies themselves and have your books sighed.
The evening left me on a high and I loved meeting these women who have inspired me through their words!
Highlights of my evening were:
Listening to the authors describe how their stories grew, discovering the inspiration behind their books and watching their passion for writing, flow amongst the room.
Finally getting to meet and hug the awesome Sara-Jade (@BookMinxSJV), someone who I have corresponded with for a while but never met in real life.
Socialising with bloggers Kim and Sarah.
Meeting the lovely Simon & Schuster team.
I would like to thank Books and The City for arranging such a fabulous event and really hope that there will be more,
Also a thank you to the staff at Waterstones for being lovely to talk to and having great offers on show which meant that my TBR pile grew even more that night.
*Girls on Tour cost £8 (£6 if you have a Waterstones loyalty card) and was worth every penny!
