Hi Kirsty and thanks for inviting me on to your lovely blog. As you love shopping and books, I thought I’d try and combine the two with a little online shopping for some of the characters in my debut novel Talk To Me.
When people ask me why I write, I explain that the characters lodge themselves my head talking to me and then I think about them obsessively, often for months, before I actually begin to write their story.
As a result I know them pretty well and I thought it would be fun to imagine what they’d probably wear in some of the scenes from the book. Of course it’s up to the reader’s imagination as to exactly what they did wear.
Chapter one starts at a wedding ...

Daniel and clothes is about as uncomplicated as it gets, jeans and shirts most of the time, with a suit for weddings and important meetings. He looks perfect in either!

The way Emily looks is always important, even her casual includes a designer bustier. A trip to the pub requires serious consideration on the wardrobe front, whereas Olivia is happy to sling on a pair of jeans and a crisp white top.

However when it comes to work, Olivia takes things very seriously and is ultra-smart. Wearing a suit is her professional armour. In contrast Emily’s see’s work as another opportunity for a fashion parade.

One of the key scenes takes place at a red carpet film premiere event and I had a lof of fun deciding what the two main characters would wear.

Of course the star of the show is the dress on the front cover of the book, but you’ll have to read it to find out why!

Jules, thank you for stopping by and a big thank you for such a wonderful guest post

Talk to me, Blurb
Olivia and Daniel certainly aren't talking the language of love ...
Olivia has been in love with Daniel forever but, despite her best efforts, they've never been able to get it together. Their relationship has always been a series of mixed messages and misunderstandings and the final straw comes when Daniel mysteriously starts dating her flat-mate, Emily. Hurt and confused, Olivia resolves to forget her heartache with a spot of speed-dating. After all, what could possibly go wrong?

One crazy stalker later and Olivia's life is becoming increasingly strange and scary. Can she rely on Daniel to step in when events take a terrifying turn or will their communication breakdown ultimately result in tragedy ?
